Scripture: Colossians 1:21-23

In Colossians 1:21–23, Paul paints a clear picture of the human condition apart from Christ. Though many believe they are inherently good, Scripture tells us that we were once alienated from God, hostile in mind, and living in rebellion against Him.

This sermon walks through how God, in His grace, reconciles sinners to Himself through the death of Jesus. Rather than calling us to clean ourselves up or prove our worth, the gospel declares that Jesus has done the work on our behalf, making believers holy, blameless, and restored to God.

Jared also explains Paul’s call to continue in the faith, showing that saving faith is not about effort or perfection, but about remaining fixed on Jesus as our only hope. This passage offers both a sober warning and deep assurance, reminding us that Christ not only reconciles us, but keeps us secure in Him.
